Take part in a few of the Highland games listed below, guaranteed to create a few laughs
Tossing the Caber
A traditional event! To toss a caber you have to lift a caber (a large pole) so that it is perpendicular to your body with one end pointing to the sky. The pole is then tossed in the air to rotate and fall over to lie in the 12 o’clock position.
Weight over Bar This involves swinging a weight over a bar – no great surprise there! The bar is behind you and you swing the weight over your head, letting it go at the critical moment.
Highland Dancing:
Bagpipe Playing
All the guests will be taught how to handle the bagpipes and play a tune or two. It's more difficult than it sounds!
Welly Boot Hurling
Another event which may in time become traditional! You may think it’s easy to throw a wellie towards a target but it’s not if you want to score points for your team. Points are awarded for successfully landing a wellie inside the target.
Fly-casting
Like a true Scotsman, try casting a fly into a series of rings placed in the loch.
Target Golf
Guests are invited to practice their swing and aim for the target - a golf hole! The hole is surrounded by a series of rings and points are awarded for balls which land in the various rings. Maximum points are scored for a hole in one!
Tug o’ War
An old favourite and a must in all Highland Games – teams can be mixed, clan against clan, country against country – and the competition can be fierce !

Haggis Malt Challenge
Try throwing Scotland’s national dish as close to Scotland’s favourite drink as you can. The person who gets closest to the bottle of malt wins the Challenge and the bottle.
